  • A student planning to apply under Student Partners Program (SPP) process needs to purchase a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (G.I.C.) account and deposit CAD$ 10,200 as a proof of their living expense for one year in their account.
  • After receiving the Letter of Acceptance from the college, the student needs to process for the G.I.C., which takes around 10 to 15 working days.
  • Initially, the student needs to create a new email id with Scotia Bank. This process takes 4 to 5 days. After that the student needs to make a payment from his/her account through a wire transfer and pay CAD$ 10,200 and from that CAD$ 10,000 would be deposited in their G.I.C. and CAD$ 200 is deducted as Administration charge by Scotia Bank.
  • After the payment is done, it may take up to 3 or 4 days for the money to get credited in the G.I.C. account.
  • The student needs to take a print of the receipt of payment in G.I.C. and the receipt should be self-attested in the file while during the application of the Visa process.
  • Once the student lands in Canada, they need to open a Savings account in Scotia Bank where they will get CAD$ 2000 right away for their living expense and the remaining balance gets transferred in their account every alternate month in equal installments for their living expenses in the entire year.

  • A duly-filled application form
  • A smart cover letter stating the purpose and duration of your stay. You will have to express the reason for choosing the specific university, study program. Mention also your study and future plans and how these studies will be improving your career and life.
  • Valid national passport. (It must have three more months of validity on the day you leave Germany)
  • Two photocopies of your passport.
  • Three recently taken biometric portrait photographs. (Strict requirements)
  • Your certificate of birth.
  • Covered health insurance- It must have coverage of at least 30,000 EUR and it must be valid for at least 3 months.
  • Letter of Admission into a study program from the German University
  • Proof of Payment to the college/university
  • Evidence of your earlier education.
  • Original school-leaving certificate.
  • Degree certificate. (If you’re entering Master or Ph.D. studies).
  • Proof of Financial Resources to support your stay in Germany (Blocked Account Paper, preferably)
  • Scores of Language Tests in Germany (Proof of German if you are applying for a course taught in German only)
  • Travel Health Insurance
  • NOTE- Be cautious about your passport validity- it needs to be valid for your entire period of stay, including the expected extended period. Do not stick your photographs in the visa application form.
  • Blocked bank account- One of the easiest and the fastest ways to open a German Blocked Account is through Fintiba/Sutor Bank. The blocked account provided by Fintiba is accepted by German embassies/consulates all around the world.
  • Letter of commitment by a local resident: A person living in Germany, showing they’ll be covering your accommodation and/or other living costs while you’ll be here.
  • Letter of a declaration by a parent: It has to show their commitment to support you financially during your stay here. It must be supplemented by their bank statements of the latest 6 months.
  • Scholarship awarding certificate: It must show you as a receiver and the amount of financial coverage granted to you by this scholarship.

  • DS-160 form: You will need your signed DS-160 form. This can be completed on the U.S. Department of State site.
  • Visa appointment letter: After filling out the DS-160, you need to schedule a visa appointment. Visit com for a detailed explanation of how to book a visa appointment.
  • Visa fee receipt: Valid visa fee receipt with a unique identification number. This number will be given to you when you register at com.
  • Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) barcode printout: You will receive the CEAC barcode on the confirmation page of your completed DS-160 form; be sure to print this page and keep it with your records.
  • Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee receipt: You will need to submit a SEVIS Form I-901 and pay the fee. Keep a copy of your SEVIS fee receipt.
  • Photograph: There is no need for a photograph—your photo will be taken when you go for your appointment.
  • Passport: Have your original valid passport. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your interview date.
  • Form I-20 and a letter of admission: Check the Form I-20 to make sure that your name and date of birth is listed and spelled correctly. If it is not correct, contact the school official who sent you the Form I-20 and have it replaced.
  • Financial documents: You need to provide proof of liquid assets sufficient to pay for the entire first year of education and living expenses, as well as proof of readily available funds to cover the remaining years of studies.
  • Degree transcripts: Original Bachelor’s degree transcripts or high school diploma along with mark sheets from previous institutions attended.
  • Test scores: Be prepared to provide GRE/TOEFL/IELTS/GMAT score sheets.
  • Work experience certificate: If you are an employee of a company, have your work experience certificate available.
  • Lastly, contact the S. embassy in your home country where you are planning to apply for the visa for detailed information on appointment times and additional F-1 visa application requirements and procedures.
